I noticed some major issues when I first started playing my set of Alesis drums straight out of the box. The bass drum sound on most of the 21 presets was way so loud, it was almost blowing my ear drums out. This is a very easy fix. Press the mix button on the alesis controller you see the volume flashing. Hit the drum that you would like to adjust. Adjust the volume by turning the dial knob. After you have the desired volume, hit the store button and that's all. Your Alesis drum set should sound a lot better, I know mine does from just this simple adjustment. I'm still getting used to them so I will write more as I discover any other issues. Over all, this is a great set of electronic drums
